Business with Cricut: Felt Plushies!
Did you ever wonder what businesses you could start of you had a Cricut? As a Cricut user of quite sometime now, i can tell you tl with confidence that the possibilities are endless. Once you've invested in a Cricut, be it for hobbycrafts or for business you can make things that you never thought possible before! This article though is about how to felt Plushies for yourself or to sell and make a bit of an income!
Skills required:
Basics of cricut.
It would be quite an added beneficial if you looked into a video or two about contouring tool. Here's one for you.
Knowing how to sew would be a super upgrade but you can still use glue if you don't know to sew.
Materials Required:
Felt (bonded felt, different colours preferably)
Cricut Fabric mat (pink)
Cricut (maker/explore)
Rotary blade (of your machine is Cricut maker. I've heard that cricut maker cuts felt like butter!)
HOW TO GO ABOUT THE PROCESS:
Just take a look at the image below.
Suppose you want to make a felt fox.
The die cut files such as the one in the first image are available for download from various sites and pages. You may download the file first.
Now if such a file isn't available for you to download then you can use the contour tool in cricut design space to convert any image into an svg and still make a damn cute plushie!
Here's a link to a video where you can learn how to convert any image to an svg using the contour tool in cricut design space!
Once you've gotten the file ready, all that's left for you to do is set your felt on the mat, and load it onto cricut
Bonus tip: if you have an iPad, you can use the snaat feature. This will save you alot of time. You wouldn't have to keep unloading the mat to keep changing the fabric.
All you need to do is either sew it or glue it. Whatever floats your boat! You can add a bit of cotton inside to give it that fluffy look.
This is how easy it is to make a plushie with cricut. As a bonus I'm adding a few instagram pages below to show you how felt Plushies can be a real seller. So if you love making these cute thingies and have a business mind do head over to the pages for an inspiration
