CUT CLAY WITH A CRICUT!
Have you ever wondered if it was possible to cut out different shapes of clay with a Cricut? Because that definitely would be a game changer. Yes. Cricut can 'cut' clay. If you know this hack. Wink wink.
Though this hack doesn't really tackle the situation directly it does help big time.
Really gotta love this hack from EverClay!
If you're someone who loves to make clay works or if you run a small business that makes clay based products, this hack is going to save you a lot of time and stress!
In fact, this can even help you make custom fonts or decors with your fondants as well! Wow! This will definitely save you a lot of time.
If you've ever been struggling to fix your drawing skill just so that you can nail those shapes for your fondant or clay, now if you have a cricut, sit back and relax while the machine takes over all your efforts away.
How can this be done? All you have to do is
Step one:download the design of your choice
Step two: save it a cut file.
Step three: clock on make it
Step four: use it as a stencil/reference for your cutting.
And viola! You're done.
Is that confusing? Check out the images below. This should give you an idea of what I mean.
Watch how the cutout has been used as a reference to cut out the christmas tree shape from the clay.
Here's the cutout.
And done! I really love this hack from Everclay and I'll definitely try to figure out ways to use it in my different projects. The best part of this hack is that you can even do it with your tiny little cricut joy!
I've been searching high and low to figure out a way to get cricut to cut out clay. Since clay is not a rigid material, it moves as the blades of the cricut runs through it. But i did come across a tutorial that used cricut to cut out fondant for lettering. I haven't yet gotten a chance to test it out with clay. But that day won't be far.
Experimenting with different materials with cricut is really fun!
Anyway. I hope this post helps you with your cricuttastic projects!
